Boehly Rebuild Needed!
Sterling Done! De Jong and De ligt soon?!

Following a crazy 21/22 Premier league season for the Blues both on and off the pitch, new owner Todd Boehly is looking to make a number of statement summer signings. The last season under the Roman era had seen the flop in record 97.5 million pound signing Romelu Lukaku as a mix of poor form and questionable interviews had hindered any possibilities of a dream return to the Bridge. The combination of injuries, Covid cases and conflict across Europe had affected the way that the club was run on and off the field. Sanctions imposed on Chelsea's ex-owner Roman Abramovich had restricted the club in a number of economic ways including the delaying of contract renewals and the selling of the club.
Notable departures including: Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Romelu Lukaku as well as rumours surrounding the exits of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Alonso and Azpilicueta have left many Chelsea fans questioning some much needed transfer business. With Raheem Sterling completing his deal to Chelsea later today the deal is to be around 45 million for the 28 year old winger. Sterling was Boehly's and Chelsea's number 1 priority signing for the summer window and its looking like with less than a month to go before their opening day clash away at Goodison park Chelsea will finally be making the first signing of the new era.
Chelsea's ambition on signing two wingers this summer had seemed to be open road with Leeds agreeing a deal with Chelsea for Brazilian winger Raphinha for around 65 million plus add ons. However, its been made clear from a player perspective although happy to still join the Blues, his dream move is to Barcelona. The Spanish club struggling financially have targeted the Brazilian as a prime target but with players yet to be registered with La Liga, Barca are fighting against time to agree a deal otherwise face threat of losing players to other interested clubs. With Chelsea eyeing up Dembele, who is edging closer to agreeing a long term contract with the Spaniards it seems that the Blues could miss out on a second winger this summer.
The former Ajax duo, De ligt and De Jong had learnt the hard way when moving away from Amsterdam about the struggles of European football. De Ligt has been part of a Juventus side that has seen a struggle to domestic success the last couple of years. With interest from both Chelsea and Bayern Munich, Ben Jacobs has described the chase for the Dutchmen's signature as an 'open race'. Chelsea's need for a defensive partner to Thiago Silva, De Ligt would be a perfect fit for the veteran in Tuchel's backline. Fees suggested to be around 70 million unless a swap deal could be agreed. On the other hand, amongst interest over the last couple of months for De Jong to join United to be re united with Ten Hag and Barcelona's want to lower their wage budget and raise funds for other targets its looking like they are trying to force the midfielder out. United had seemed to be the only club interested but with the player expressing dissatisfaction over a proposed move to Manchester, the blues are monitoring the situation with some sources suggesting Chelsea have expressed interest in the player. Jorginho desire to leave Chelsea to link up with old boss Sarri could see the Ballon D'or nominee be replaced with the young Dutch Midfielder.
Todd Boehly is clear on his aims to make statement signings and with Sterling's deal done could we see more entries into Stamford Bridge this summer and who will depart to make room?
