What lies beneath the surface

As I lay awake in this California king bed, staring at his dreamy face while he sleeps. I keep replaying our last conversation over and over, how he could screw his secretary like what a cliche. We've been together for over 20 years, we met in high school, he was the high school jock while I was the school nerd. I got pregnant the first time we were together. In all this time I don't even realize that I had grabbed a knife from the kitchen, walking over to my husband who loves screwing young 22-year-old girls while his 38-year-old wife is at home waiting for him to come home, I climb on top of him, as I slowly start to bring the knife down to stab him, he wakes up and he says "hey what are you doing, are you crazy?" He throws me off him and gets out of bed, yelling "I can't believe I had to marry you and have a stupid ugly son with you. I should have listened to all my friends in high school when they told me to stay away from trailer trash."

I stand up and get ready for a fight of a lifetime. I calmy say "I have done everything for the last 15 years we have been together, and you can't keep your dick in your pants. You think your kid is ugly because he reminds you of your brother that you killed. You are worthless scum and I can't wait anymore for justice to come. The time is now." I get my gun from the bedside table, and screw on a silencer as to not wake my beautiful son. I point it at my husband and pull the trigger. The thump of his body hits me hard as I realize that I now have to rid of his body. I think about the smell of a dead body and the cover up of 2 murders she now is a part of and wonders when she will have peace and quiet. The house his family lives in holds many secrets, what's one more? I will bury him next to his brother, where the wild things grow. This is only the beginning, the truth of this town will be revealed, they will all pay for the pain and suffering of the innocents they have hurt along the way.
