Chapter - 1
One day, Rose learns her ex-boyfriend is cheating on her just a month before Valentine's Day. Heartbroken and taking a week off from her work, Rose got back to work and pretended to act normally. Her colleague and childhood best friend, Ethan. "what happened?" He asked Rose. Rose stayed quiet.
"You are not alright," Ethan asked. Rose looked up, and she couldn't hide things from Ethan. Rose nodded. Rose told Ethan everything as she wanted to confine someone, and Ethan was the best friend who could keep secrets.
"Break up with Liam, giving no more chances." Ethan's advice. I have been thinking about it. I am a fool, and it is time to leave his sorry ass. I texted Liam.' we need to talk.'
"About." He texted back.
"You are cheating on me. Not answering my calls." I texted.
"I am done with you." He texted and blinked at the text and tears in my eyes. Ethan took the phone, blocked the number from the phone, and deleted it.
"You are off without a douchebag," Ethan said. I got off work with a numb feeling. Ethan walks next to me after work.
"I had planned to take you to Valentine's party at Jinal place," I said with sadness. "I will have to go alone, I guess, and it's painful__" I choke on my emotions, sobbing, and Ethan pulls in my embrace, and I try to control my tears.
"I have something to say," Ethan said. I was still in his warm embrace, and his minty cologne helped calm my sadness down. "You want to go to Jinal's Valentine's party?"
"I have to or else I will get lectures from her." I sighed. "But how can I? I mean, everyone will be there with their Valentine, and I will be alone."
"How about I accompany you?" Ethan said. I pulled from the embrace to look at his gaze, which looked sincere.
"Ethan, it's a party. I mean, you hate parties and socializing." I asked. Ethan looked away and then again met a gaze that held an emotion.
"For you, I can socialize." I blinked at his remark, which made my heart flutter, and my introverted best friend never showed his emotion by saying he would go to a party for me. "Don't you dare say no to me," he said, and I smiled.
"How can I say no?." I answered.
The following day. I dressed in the red dress which I had bought for Valentine's Day, and sharp at 08:00 pm. Ethan came to my door and dressed sharp, and he wore semi-casual attire.
"You look beautiful," Ethan said for the first time, complicating me, which surprised me. I blushed, and Ethan gave me a small smile when we drove to Jinal's place, which was a lavish apartment.
Upon arriving, the party was in full swing. I stood frozen when I saw Jinal and, next to her, my ex-boyfriend Liam. I knew he was cheating on me, but my best friends Jin, Al, and Liam looked at me with no remorse, and many looked at me in question as Liam, and I dated for a year and were a popular couple, and Jinal would betray me like this.
"I can't believe this," I managed to speak. "You did this to me." I accused my best Jinal, who closed for a month and told me to move on, and she was the one in the pain of my misery.
"Look at me, Rose." I stared at Ethan, who stared back at me, and his whisper came into my ear. "Do you want to take revenge on Liam? I have an idea," Ethan said. I blinked, and I saw Jinal and Liam walking towards me to mock me further.
"I want to take revenge," I said, and then Ethan smiled at me.
"Play along with my act," he whispers. I did, and Ethan was on his knees and holding my hand in his. "Will you be my girlfriend, Rose?"
