The Nerd and the Bad Boy
A little cliché to bring back the fun memories

Birds chirping.
Sunlight streaming.
A cold pillow.
And a blaring alarm.
"Honey! Wake up! Your new school starts in 20 minutes and you're still in bed!" Mom yelled from the kitchen.
I groaned as I tried to roll deeper into my bed.
Key word being tried.
I ended up falling off completely.
"OW!" I yelled as I grabbed my head. Stupid clumsiness, I thought, wait shoot! 20 minutes? Why was I always like this??
Oh wait, hi. Forgot to introduce myself. My name is Stacy Emily Sterling Adams Van Vough. Today is my first day at Green Country Hill High School, where I'll be starting my year as a senior. I am 17 years old with honey blonde brown slightly wavy hair and bright sky clear ice blue greenish eyes. And a horrible knack for keeping time.
I scrambled into the bathroom and looked around frantically. What should I do first? I only had 20 minutes, was that enough time to shower? Was that even enough time to brush my teeth? I smelled my breath, flowers. Good enough. And ran down the stairs.
My mother was in the kitchen, cooking up some bacon for the bagel sandwiches places in the middle of the dining table. I reached out one delicate hand and snatched it into my mouth. "Bye mom! Love you!" I yelled as I headed out. I gobbled up the bagel as I ran to school, which luckily wasn't too far. My golden honey brown chestnut hair was definitely going to be a mess by the time I arrived in school, but oh well. It's not like I had anyone to impress anyways.
I slammed the school front door open, my bagel already long gone. My storm gray blueish green eyes scanned the hallway. Everyone was staring at me. Oh, they must think I'm so ugly. I tucked a golden lock behind my dainty ear and nervously looked down. I could feel their stares as they looked at me judgingly. If only I were back in my old school with my old friends.
They were mostly boys since the girls didn't like me for some reason. I never really had that one thing to bond with over a girl I guess. While all the other girls were taking photos of each other in front of the sunsets, I was playing football with the boys. While all the girls wore fancy dresses and hairdos with thick makeup painted on their face, I was stuffing my face with food while wearing converse under my dress. Crazy right?
I guess… I'm just different like that.
Oh well, no time to be sad. It's time to start new. Starting by finding the administration office to get my schedule. I saw an arrow pointing to the left with 'office' written under it and decided to follow that. Keeping my head down, I hurriedly scurried off towards the office, away from all the stares, when I suddenly bumped into someone. Hard.
"Ouchie!" I cried as I fell hard on my butt. That's gonna leave a bruise. I looked up, ready to apologize, and was instead met with the appearance of what seemed to be the most gorgeous boy in the world.
He had perfect tousled jet black hair, which was not too long but not too short, just perfect. Sharp beautiful green eyes, that reflected the lights of the hallways, and dark thick eyebrows that slightly tilted down. He had high strong cheekbones, but not too strong that they looked bold, but just perfect with a touch of boyishness. He had a strong, straight nose, that tilted slightly upward. His lips were full and thick, but not too thick, and beautiful. Plump, not dry, he uses chapstick alot. His jaw was sharp and round, casting a perfect 60⁰ shadow on his thick muscular neck that was also long and elegant. His tall, slightly muscular body, loomed over my tiny one on the floor.
He was beautiful.
"I-I'm sorry-"
"Watch it new girl." He growled darkly before walking right past me. I gaped at the empty space he had previously been standing in. I can't believe I thought he was attractive. I groaned as I dusted myself off and gathered my things before heading to the office.
—
My first class was chemistry, which was at the end of the hall so I had to run. Fortunately, I was able to get a seat in the back of the class just before the bell rang.
"Good morning class. Today we'll be learning about 'Molarity of molecules'." Mr. Freyton announced from the front of the classroom. Too easy. "But first, I must introduce the new girl. Stacy, stand up and introduce yourself."
Well shoot.
I stood up and waved shyly at all the people staring at me. "Um, hi. My name is Stacy. I moved here from, well you probably don't know it since it's a really small town, it's called Los Angeles and it's really beautiful. I'm an only child and I wish I had brother because they seem so fun. And also, I wish I had a dog because they also seem fun, hehe. I guess I'm a girl that just loves fun things, so I hope to have a fun time here as well-"
"Oh shut up new girl." A blonde girl yelled from the other side of the classroom. "He said 'introduction', not a monologue." She snickered with her friends as they high fived with their long painted nailed hands.
My ears burned with embarrassment…
…for her.
She didn't know who I was and what I could do. I always stand up for myself, especially against bullies. "F.Y.I, it wasn't a monologue cause it's not related to drama. How about you pick up a book for once in your life and then talk. Burn." I said, snapping my fingers and making a sizzling sound. That should teach her. I may look weak, but I'm actually strong. You mess with the kitty. You get the claws.
Rawr.
Blondie blinked. "Okay what the-"
"And thank you. Let's move on with the topic." The teacher announced before I could insult blondie even more. "So about molarity-"
BAM. The door slammed open and a tall boy walked in.
It was the boy from earlier. This time covered in bandages.
You have got to be kidding me.
At once, all the girls in the class started whispering to one another and giggling. Typical.
The teacher groaned. "You have got to be kidding me-"
"Sorry I'm late, I had business." He said in a bored tone.
"Yeah whatever, just go sit." The teacher sighed.
He started heading in my direction, his green eyes piercing my blue eyes. I could feel the stare of every girl turning to pierce through me with savage, cruel hate.
I looked away, still slightly mad at his rude response from earlier, as he took the empty chair beside me. I don't understand how any of these girls here could even smile at him. If they had a brain, they'd realize how much of a jerk he was.
"Okay, anyways, back to topic. What exactly is molarity? Molarity can be defined by-"
My mind zoned out as Mr. Freyton continued to drone on and on about Molality or whatever. I didn't really like chemistry. I mean, I could do it, but that didn't mean I enjoyed it. Before I could fall into deep slumber from the lullaby of Mr. Freyton's voice, I caught sight of the jerk next to me.
Sleeping.
Wow. He didn't even try.
His long lashes brushed accross his cheek, where a square bandaid lay. What had happened? How did he go from perfect to roughed up in just 20 minutes? A piece of his hair fell over his forehead, and before I knew what was happening, my hand was already reaching out to brush it away.
Suddenly, his dark eyes blinked open, staring right at me. I froze, my hand halfway up in the air.
OH SHOOT HE CAUGHT ME. HE'S GOING TO THINK IM LIKE ALL THOSE OTHER GIRLS WHO ARE IN LOVE WITH HIM OR SOMETHING. QUICK, DO SOMETHING-
Apparently my brain and my body have bad coordination and sense of space.
Because I clapped.
"Ms. Stacey!"
"Hehe, um, sorry sir. Mosquitos, you know?"
Giggles rang through the classroom as people laughed at my sorry excuse. This was so embarrassing. I could practically feel my great-grandmothers ears turn red.
Nice job leaving a great first impression on your first day, Stacey.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw mr. Jerk tuck his head back into his elbow. Except this time, there was a hint of a smile on his lips.
He had dimples.
Somebody help my heart.
