The Merchant's Secret Wisdom
Life's Subtle Lessons
In a small, sun-drenched village, there lived an elderly man known for his sweet, juicy watermelons. Every morning, he set up his humble stall with a handwritten sign that read : 1 for $3, 3 for $10.
One bright afternoon, a curious young man approached the stall. He studied the sign intently, a mischievous glint in his eye. After a moment, he decided to buy three watermelons, but he paid for each one separately, handing over $3 each time.
As he was about to leave, he turned back to the old man with a triumphant grin. "Hey, old man," he called out, "do you realise I just bought three watermelons for $9 instead of $10? Maybe business isn't your strong suit."
The old man, with a twinkle in his wise eyes and a gentle smile, murmured to himself, "People are amusing. Every day, someone thinks they've outsmarted me, yet they always end up buying more watermelons."
He watched the young man walk away, chuckling softly.

What a lovely story, that young man’s arrogance made him blind to the old man’s smart business mind. This was a well written piece, tied with the ribbon of a very important lesson 👌🏽👏🏽🤗♥️
Hahahahahahhahahaha that old man is smart!
This is one cute little story, and the old man was showing a kindness to the young man in a way. Good job.
What a charming little story! The old man’s wisdom and quiet humor show that life’s not always about numbers—it’s about perspective and enjoying the moment. His chuckle at the end? That’s the sound of experience knowing it always wins. 🥰🍉
hahaha! What a beautiful yet poignant story 💖 The old man was surely wise... If I were there; I'm sure I would've bought 3 too. 😆
