The Lighthouse Keeper's Secret
The Lighthouse Keeper's Secret

The story opens with Jenna, a young woman in her late twenties, who is looking for an escape from her high-pressure job in the city. She stumbles across a volunteer position as a caretaker for a remote lighthouse on the rocky coast of Maine. Seeking solitude and a chance to reset, she decides to take it.
As she settles into life by the ocean, Jenna begins to feel a strange presence in the lighthouse. Doors creak open on their own, she hears faint whispers at night, and sometimes she catches glimpses of shadows moving in the corner of her eye. A few local residents stop by occasionally, leaving supplies or sharing eerie tales of the lighthouse’s past, mentioning a former keeper who mysteriously disappeared fifty years ago. Rumor has it he had a journal with an unspoken secret about the lighthouse—but no one knows what happened to it.
One night, while exploring a storage closet, Jenna finds a hidden compartment with an old, dust-covered journal. As she flips through the pages, she realizes that the former keeper believed the lighthouse wasn’t just a beacon for ships but a doorway to another realm. Each entry reveals more about his encounters with unexplained forces and his growing fear of an impending event.
As Jenna delves deeper into the journal, she begins to experience similar phenomena: strange lights flickering off the coast, unsettling dreams, and a pull that almost feels supernatural. One stormy night, a young boy appears on the shore, seemingly out of nowhere, drenched and lost. Jenna takes him in, but he remains silent, only staring at her with intense eyes that seem to see more than he lets on.
Throughout the story, Jenna finds herself caught between skepticism and belief, trying to understand the boy's connection to the lighthouse and the former keeper’s mysterious warnings. As she unravels the secret, Jenna faces her own fears and a long-buried trauma from her past. In the climax, she discovers that the lighthouse does, indeed, hold a power to transcend time and space, and she must make a choice that could alter her life forever.
