The Letter That Never Arrived
The Letter That Never Arrived
By GoldenSpeechPublished 3 months ago • 1 min read

When Emily’s grandmother passed away, she inherited a box of old letters tied with a faded blue ribbon. All had been sent—but one had never been opened. It was addressed to her grandmother from a man named Arthur, dated 1943.
Curiosity consumed her. When she read it, she found a love confession and a promise to meet at the train station “after the war.” Emily searched records and discovered Arthur had vanished in battle days after sending the letter.
The climax: When Emily visited the train station with the letter in hand, she saw a man in an old army uniform waiting on the platform. He smiled faintly and disappeared with the sound of an approaching train that never came.
