The Land Where Men Fight and Kill

Chapter 1 - Prologue

By Morgan WrightPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

In the land where men fight and kill, there is little room for a woman.

She is a symbol. Be it a prize or child bearer. She is something the men want and keep.

Keep for attention, want for the child.

Stabbing, bleeding, clawing at one another for a shot at the fairer sex. The woman has no say.

Yet she is told to have a role, a role of the pleasurer or wife.

For the role of pleasure, she is sold off in slavery or selling herself in a saloon. Either way, she is used. Used by men with nothing in return.

Or in the role of the wife, she is at home. With a child, she waits for the man. When the man returns, she falls ill and dies with the babe in arms. The babe now without a mother, makes the man become both.

Due to the passing of the wife, the babe and man change roles. Setting a course for a new way of life.

With just the right push and words of comfort, the man helps raises babe and gives her an alternate route. And just maybe, with this encouragement, the babe can become a hero in this land where men fight and kill. She might even save the poor souls trapped in the land's seemingly endless loop of violence.
