A peculiar house stood on a hill—solid walls, windows, a roof, but no doors. Yet people could enter whenever they felt lost. Once inside, they found rooms perfectly suited to their needs: a warm fire, a soft bed, an open journal. When they left, they could never find the house again. Some believed the house chose its visitors; others said it appeared when a heart cracked just enough to let healing in. The house asked for nothing in return except honesty.

The Stone That Remembered Names
A large stone in the center of a village whispered names to those who leaned close. Some heard ancestors, others heard strangers. A girl once heard the name of a friend she had not yet met. Years later, they crossed paths and became inseparable. Upon returning to the stone, they heard both their names together. Elders believed the stone remembered every life that touched the earth—even those not yet lived. It reminded villagers that identity is woven across time, not limited to a single heartbeat.

"What happened to me?" The question hung in the air, damp and hollow as it was. I felt the closeness of the walls, solid and deep. There was no echo. No hope that a simple voice could impede the silent dark. It surrounded me, gathered up and rolled over me with a blanket of complete forgetfulness. I was gone. Dead. To all who knew me, lost years ago. This is what happens to bones. This is what happens to those buried and left to lie beneath the earth until the end of time.

Getting Serious About Comedy (Part I)
