The Horror Man
The Horror Man in the New Building

Late one evening, in the heart of the city, a brand-new office building stood tall, its glass windows shimmering under the moonlight. For weeks, it had been the talk of the town, a symbol of progress and innovation. But no one knew its dark secret.
Ravi, a young and ambitious architect, was one of the first employees to move into the building. He was excited to be working in such a sleek, modern space. However, as the sun began to set, a strange unease filled the air. The building, despite its cutting-edge technology and design, felt cold, as if something unseen was watching.
One night, Ravi decided to stay late to finish up a project. The office was eerily quiet, with only the hum of the air conditioning breaking the silence. As he worked, he suddenly heard the faint sound of footsteps echoing through the empty corridors. At first, he brushed it off as his imagination, but the sound grew louder and more distinct. It was as if someone was pacing back and forth, just outside his office.
Ravi stood up and cautiously opened the door, but the hallway was empty. His heart pounded in his chest as he called out, "Hello? Is anyone there?"
There was no answer.
He returned to his desk, but the footsteps continued. This time, they were closer—right outside the door. His breath quickened as a chill ran down his spine. The door creaked open, revealing a shadowy figure standing in the doorway.
The figure was tall, with sunken eyes and a twisted grin that stretched across its pale face. It was dressed in old, tattered clothes that seemed out of place in the modern building. Ravi froze in terror as the figure slowly stepped into the room.
"Who... who are you?" Ravi stammered, his voice barely a whisper.
The figure didn't respond. Instead, it let out a low, raspy laugh that echoed through the room. Ravi's instincts screamed at him to run, but his legs wouldn't move. The figure took another step closer, its grin widening unnaturally.
Desperation surged through Ravi, and with a surge of adrenaline, he bolted for the door, pushing past the figure. He ran down the hallway, his footsteps echoing in the empty building. But no matter how fast he ran, the sound of the figure's laughter followed him, growing louder with each step.
Ravi reached the elevator and frantically pressed the button. The doors slid open, and he jumped inside, slamming the button for the ground floor. As the elevator descended, he could feel the presence of the figure just outside the doors, waiting.
When the elevator doors opened, Ravi burst out into the lobby and sprinted out of the building. He didn't stop running until he reached the safety of his apartment.
The next morning, Ravi reported the incident to the building's management, but they dismissed his story as stress-induced hallucinations. However, he wasn't the only one. Over the following weeks, more employees began to experience strange occurrences—footsteps, whispers, and sightings of the mysterious figure.
The building's dark history soon came to light. Decades ago, before it was renovated, it had been the site of a tragic accident. A construction worker had died under mysterious circumstances, his body never recovered. Some said his restless spirit still roamed the halls, seeking revenge on those who disturbed his final resting place.
The building, once a symbol of progress, became known as cursed. And as for Ravi, he never returned. The figure's twisted grin haunted his dreams, a constant reminder that some things are better left undisturbed.
Ravi never stepped foot in the new building again, but the memories haunted him for the rest of his life. Whispers of the "Horror Man" spread, and more employees began to leave, unwilling to face the lurking presence in the corridors. The once-prized office space was soon abandoned, left as a towering reminder that no matter how modern or grand a place may seem, the past—especially a dark one—has a way of creeping back.
The building stood vacant, its windows dark, its halls silent. But every so often, passersby claimed they could see a shadowy figure standing at one of the top-floor windows, watching. Waiting.
As the building lay abandoned, a group of urban explorers, intrigued by the rumors, dared to enter. Armed with flashlights and cameras, they ventured into the silent halls. But soon, they realized they weren’t alone. Strange markings appeared on the walls, and a hidden basement, sealed off for decades, was discovered. What they would uncover beneath the building's foundation was far more terrifying than a mere ghost story—something ancient, restless, and far more dangerous was waiting to be released.
