The Girl Who Spoke to Mirrors
Her reflection always told the truth — even when she couldn’t bear it.

Lina grew up in a house filled with mirrors — her mother was a glassworker, shaping silvered dreams for nobles and kings.
But Lina’s reflection was different. It blinked when she didn’t, smiled when she cried, and whispered words she’d never dared to say.
One night, after her mother’s passing, the reflection said, “You can step through, if you wish to know who you are.”
Lina pressed her hand to the glass. It rippled like water. On the other side, she found a world made entirely of reflections — people living backward lives, stars rising from oceans, hearts beating in reverse.
Days turned into years as she searched for her mirrored self. When she finally found her, the reflection said:
“You’ve lived your whole life trying to be your mother’s daughter. It’s time to become your own.”
The climax: Lina shattered the mirror — and the reflected world dissolved. In her home, she found herself holding the broken frame — her reflection smiling, proud.
Years later, people claimed her glasswork carried two lights: one from the world, and one from within.
