The Forest That Remembers
The trees never forget those who wander too far.

As a child, Nora got lost in the woods behind her grandparents’ house. Decades later, she returned as a biologist studying the same forest. It looked unchanged, untouched by time.
She began hearing whispers in the wind—her own childhood voice calling for help. The trees seemed to lean closer each day, roots twisting toward her footsteps.
The climax: Nora uncovered a clearing filled with toys, drawings, and remnants of her lost childhood. In the center stood a tree with her name carved deep into its bark. She realized the forest had kept a piece of her all along—and to leave, she had to let go of who she once was.
