The Door in the Sea
Some thresholds aren’t meant to be crossed.

On a remote beach, a storm revealed a strange sight—a massive iron door embedded in the ocean floor, visible only during low tide. Locals said it had always been there, though no one knew who built it.
One night, marine biologist Theo swam to the door with a diving light. As he approached, he felt a current pulling him closer, whispering through the water. The handle turned on its own.
The climax: The door opened to reveal a vast city of light beneath the waves—ancient, silent, and full of statues that looked almost human. When Theo resurfaced, the tide was already rising. The next morning, the door was gone, and only his journal remained on the sand, ending with the words: “It wasn’t the sea calling—it was home.”
