Inside a mountain cave, echoes did not repeat words — they repeated feelings left unsaid. A man entered and whispered, “I’m sorry,” but his echo replied with something deeper: fear, longing, relief. Terrified, he ran out — but returned days later to finish what his heart had started. He apologized to people he’d hurt, including himself. When he finally said the words aloud in the cave again, the echo was silent. It no longer needed to speak for him.
