  • Teyana Taylor shares that she has been enrolled at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts since the summer of 2025.
  • The entertainer is juggling her acting career, awards shows, and taking classes all at the same time.
  • She has aspirations to open up her own restaurant down the line.

We’ve long known Teyana Taylor as a multi-hyphenate to be reckoned with. She truly does it all—singing, dancing, acting, parenting—and she knows good food when she sees it, too (honestly, anyone who sneaks Chick-fil-A into the Met Gala is immediately my best friend, even if they don’t know it). Apart from starring in numerous hit TV shows (All’s Fair) and movies (One Battle After Another, The Rip), all coming out in succession lately, Taylor is getting her hands dirty in a whole new way—at culinary school.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the entertainer shared that she’s currently taking classes at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and has been enrolled since July 2025. Not one to sit around twiddling her thumbs, Taylor refers to her new hobby as a “double life,” turning in assignments one day, and walking red carpets at awards shows the next.

“You have an assignment due on Thursday. Your premiere is on Thursday, I'm like in the car doing schoolwork, headed to my premiere in the full-blown gown, like it’s real work. And I take pride in making sure I get my shit in the same day everybody else gets their shit in, if not sooner, you know?” she details to the magazine.

Taylor embraces her role as a student, stepping up to challenges in the kitchen. “I’m actually getting more and more comfortable with cooking with physical onions,” she says. “And I know it may sound stupid and small, but that’s a big thing,” at least, to Taylor. She shares that she’s working on broadening her palate to new tastes and flavors at school. “One thing about me is I am a student, baby. I turn into SpongeBob SquarePants, because I’m just soaking it all up,” she shared in an interview with E! News.

The entertainer has big aspirations, too—she shares that she hopes to open up her own restaurant one day. We can only hope the restaurant-to-be will be streaming all her work on big screens, too.
