Steps Of Liberation:Paths To Wholesome Freedom - Part 6

The Liberated Woman's Manifesto ( A Poem For The Becoming)

By Yvey EssenPublished 4 months ago 2 min read
Sacred. Whole. Unapologetically Free

I am not what I lost.

I am what I walked away from and survived.

I am the silence that didn’t kill me,

the nights I prayed with a breaking voice,

the mornings I rose, still cracked but standing.

I am the truth that tradition couldn't chain.

I am the faith that fear couldn't steal.

I am the echo of every “no more” that led me back to myself.

They said I was too bold.

Too loud.

Too much.

But still - I bloomed.

I no longer beg rooms to make space for me.

I carry my own light now - and it’s enough.

I don’t shrink for culture, comfort, or convenience.

I don’t apologize for being whole.

I’ve forgiven the silence.

I’ve forgiven the stares.

I’ve forgiven the version of me that didn’t know better.

And now I rise -

Not as a woman restored to what was,

but as a woman remade in fire and freedom.

“And one day, she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.”

- Mark Anthony

I laugh again.

I dance again.

I believe again.

And I love - deeply, wisely, with eyes open.

Because healing didn't make me soft.

It made me sacred.

Because I am no longer waiting to be chosen.

I already was - by God, by grace, by growth.

This is my manifesto:

I will live with intention.

I will speak with clarity.

I will walk in divine favor.

I will raise the next generation with truth.

And I will never again confuse endurance with worth.

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”

- Alice Walker

If you’ve lost your fire - go back and gather your ashes.

There’s gold in your grief.

There’s glory in your becoming.

Because you are not behind.

You are breaking free.

And freedom - real, raw, radiant freedom -

looks good on you.
