The world around them continued to shift and settle, a kaleidoscope of realities merging into a new, impossible landscape. Phoenix stepped forward, his eyes never leaving Lyra's transformed visage.

"What have you done?" he asked, his voice a mixture of awe and trepidation.

Lyra – or the being she had become – smiled sadly. "What was necessary. I merged with Prometheus at the moment of his ascension, absorbing his power and knowledge. But in doing so, I became something... more."

As she spoke, images flickered in the air around them – glimpses of the battle they'd just fought, of Lyra's sacrifice, and of realities that never were. The group watched in stunned silence as the full scope of what had transpired unfolded before them.

Scarlet was the first to break the silence. "So Prometheus is gone? We've won?"

Lyra's expression turned grave. "It's not that simple. The threat Prometheus posed is neutralized, but the power he sought still exists. It exists within me."

Shadow stepped forward, his usual stoicism cracking. "What does that mean for you? For us? For everything?"

"It means," Lyra said, her voice resonating with newfound power, "that the work has only just begun. The timelines are stabilizing, but they're still fragile. The past, present, and future are more interconnected than ever before. One misstep could unravel everything we've fought for."

As if to illustrate her point, the world around them shimmered. For a moment, they saw flashes of alternate realities – worlds where Prometheus had won, where humanity had fallen, where time itself had collapsed.

Phoenix reached out, his hand passing through Lyra's ethereal form. "There has to be a way to undo this, to bring you back."

Lyra's eyes softened with love and regret. "Phoenix, I'm still me. Just... more. I can see the threads of time, the infinite possibilities branching out before us. And I can see the role we all have to play in what comes next."

She turned, addressing the entire group. "The power I now wield is too great for any one being to control. It needs to be dispersed, balanced across time and space. Each of you will need to take on a portion of this responsibility."

The implications of her words sank in. They were being asked to become guardians of time itself, protectors of the delicate balance between what was, what is, and what could be.

"And what about you?" Scarlet asked, voicing the question on everyone's mind.

Lyra's form flickered, momentarily showing the woman they had known before this transformation. "I'll be the lynchpin, the connection between all points of time. But I can't do it alone. The temptation to reshape reality, to 'fix' everything... it's overwhelming. I need you – all of you – to keep me grounded, to remind me of our humanity."

The group exchanged glances, the weight of the decision before them palpable. This wasn't just about saving the world anymore. It was about safeguarding the very nature of existence.

Phoenix stepped forward, his decision made. "I'm with you. Always."

One by one, the others nodded their agreement. As they did, Lyra raised her hands, and streams of temporal energy flowed from her to each of them. They gasped as new awareness flooded their senses – the ability to perceive time in all its complexity, to see the consequences of every action rippling across the timestream.

"With this power comes great responsibility," Lyra cautioned. "We must be vigilant, not just against external threats, but against our own desires to change what should not be changed."

As the transfer of power completed, the world around them stabilized. They found themselves standing in a vast, ethereal citadel that existed outside of normal time and space – their new base of operations.

"Welcome to the Chronos Sanctum," Lyra said, gesturing to the impossible architecture around them. "From here, we can monitor the timestream and intervene when necessary."

Holographic displays sprang to life, showing myriad timelines and potential futures. The complexity was staggering, but with their newfound abilities, the group found they could comprehend it.

"So what now?" Shadow asked, his eyes darting between the displays.

Lyra's expression turned serious. "Now, we face our greatest challenge yet. Prometheus may be gone, but the chaos he unleashed has attracted the attention of beings from beyond our reality – entities that see our weakened timestream as an opportunity for invasion."

As if on cue, alarms blared throughout the Sanctum. On the largest display, a massive interdimensional rift was forming, threatening to tear apart the fabric of their universe.

"Temporal incursion detected," an automated voice announced. "Multiple hostiles incoming."

The team snapped into action, their new powers flaring to life. Phoenix turned to Lyra, determination blazing in his eyes. "Whatever comes through that rift, we'll face it together."

Lyra nodded, a hint of her old self shining through her transcendent form. "Together," she agreed. "But remember, every action we take will have consequences rippling across all of time. We're not just fighting for the present anymore, but for every possible future."

As the rift widened, spilling forth nightmarish creatures from beyond time and space, the newly christened guardians of the timestream braced themselves for battle. The fate of all reality hung in the balance, and the true test of their resolve was only beginning.

Phoenix glanced at his team – at Scarlet's fierce determination, Shadow's calculating focus, and the others' unwavering courage. Finally, his gaze met Lyra's, and in that moment, he knew that no matter what horrors awaited them, no matter how impossible the odds, they would face it as one.

"For all of time," Phoenix declared, his voice carrying the weight of their shared destiny.

"For all of time," the others echoed, their powers surging in unison.

As the first wave of extradimensional invaders crashed against their defenses, the Chronos Sanctum erupted into a maelstrom of temporal energy. The battle for the past, present, and future had begun – a battle that would rage across the infinite expanse of time itself.

And so, the Temporal Rebels, once fighting against the tides of change, now stood as the last line of defense for all of existence. Their journey had led them to this moment, but it was far from over. In fact, it was eternal – an endless vigil against the forces that would unmake reality.

As Lyra had said, their work had only just begun. The true test of their rebellion lay in the infinite possibilities stretching out before them, in the countless decisions that would shape the fate of all timelines.

The story of the Temporal Rebels would echo through eternity, a testament to the power of choice, sacrifice, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship in the face of cosmic forces beyond imagination.

Their tale was far from over. In truth, it would never end. For as long as time itself existed, the Rebels would stand guard, their eternal watch a beacon of hope in the vast, ever-changing tapestry of existence.
