Part One: The Birth of a Shadow Hunter

Chapter One: Night of Tragedy

The Quiet Village

In the small village of Harumashi, everyone lived peacefully amidst the green fields and mountains that embraced the village. Rin Saiga, a sixteen-year-old boy, spent his evenings with his little sister Mai, ten years old, telling her epic stories about knights facing monsters and saving the weak.

"Do you think there really are monsters like the ones in the tales?" Mai wondered, as she looked at the twinkling stars in the sky.

"I don't know, but even if they do exist, I will be the knight to protect you from anything." He answered her confidently, and she smiled as she squeezed his hand gently.

Signs of Danger

As the family was getting ready for bed, something strange happened. The wind that had been gentle suddenly turned into a cold storm, and mysterious whispers began to be heard from outside the houses. Rin woke up to the sound of strange footsteps and distant screams rising in the distance.

"What is this?" he thought to himself as he approached the window. Looking outside, he saw Thick black smoke crawled towards the village like a living creature. As it approached, distorted creatures with completely unhuman shapes, long claws and glowing red eyes, began to appear.

"Ren!" Mai screamed in fear, jumping out of her bed.

"Mai, stay behind me!" he said, trying to suppress the trembling in his voice.

Attack on the Village

Chaos began to spread across the village. The sounds of the residents' screams mixed with the sounds of smashing, and flames spread all around. These creatures were attacking mercilessly, smashing doors and windows and storming houses.

"We have to run now!" Ren said, grabbing his sister's hand and rushing her towards the back door of the house.

As they ran towards the nearby forest, one of these creatures chased after them. It was moving at an unnatural speed, like a shadow racing with the wind.

An Unequal Fight

Ren tried to protect his sister with all he could. He grabbed a wooden stick that was next to him and aimed a blow at the creature, but it was unaffected. The creature lunged at him, knocking him down, then headed towards Mai.

"No!" Ren shouted, trying to stand up again, but the creature was faster. With its sharp claws, it struck Mai in the shoulder, knocking her down as she groaned in pain.

"Mai!" Ren ran towards her, trying to stop the bleeding with his torn cloth. But he realized that it was more than him, as her eyes gradually began to turn red, and her body became cold.

Unexpected Rescue

Just as Ren was about to collapse, a strange man appeared from the shadows. He was tall, wearing a long black cloak, and holding a blue sword that shone with a dull glow. With a determined look, he leapt towards the creature and dealt one decisive blow that made it evaporate into thin air.

"Who are you?" Ren asked as he looked at the imposing man.

"My name is Cairo, and I am a Shadow Hunter. Are you two, okay?"

"Mai... My sister! She's injured!" Ren shouted as he pointed to the wound on her shoulder.

The Painful Truth

Kairo examined Mai's injury seriously and said, "This is no ordinary injury. She was affected by the Shadow Curse. If she is not treated soon, she may lose her humanity completely."

"Curse?! What does it mean?" Ren asked anxiously.

"A curse is a malicious force that spreads through the body, turning a person into a completely dark creature. It is difficult to cure, but we can slow down its effects temporarily."

"Please, do anything to save her!" Ren pleaded as he grabbed the man's hand.

"There is a temporary cure, but it won't be enough. If you really want to save her, you have to accompany me. The person who caused this attack is controlling these creatures, and you must confront them to find the final solution."

The Difficult Decision

Ren looked at his sister, who was starting to show signs of fatigue even more. He had no choice.

"I will go with you. Teach me how to fight and save my sister!"

"Your decision is brave, but you have to be prepared to make great sacrifices."

The Journey Begins

As dawn broke, Ren carried his sister and walked behind Cairo. Leaving behind the village that had become ashes, he vowed to himself: "I will become strong enough to protect those I love. I will not let anyone, or anything take them from me." This was the beginning of Ren's journey to become a Shadowhunter, discovering the secrets surrounding the forces of darkness, and learning how to face them with courage and determination.
