ONCE UPON A LETTER💌

Towards 2 years ending, should be either November or December, can't really say. I went out for my early morning jogging, on my way back, that was 25 minutes past 7,I could remember the date vividly because it was probably the ending of a love story that day, or perhaps the beginning 🤔 ©Soul Scribbles

Just two houses away from my street, I noticed a neat red color envelope on the sidewalk, someone might have dropped it not long before I came along because it was too neat to have spent even an hour laying there. I was tempted to pick it for so many reasons, one it was my favorite color, two, who knows what was inside, wouldn't hurt to check, three, I loved the design on the envelope, it had a drawing of two hands holding, more like a sketch though, four, it was my color and five, I really wanted to know what was inside.🧐🧐

I picked it up after making sure there was no one with camera around, all these content creators, let somebody not come out from one place and start shouting it's a prank, it's a prank🙄🤧. I turned to the other side of the envelope, with a fine Calibri light writing 'from your better side, Vanessa' was written on it. Wow, I'm definitely opening it now, I felt a little guilty opening the letter, at the other hand, I wanted to know if there was any address or info to contact.

I gently opened the seal, I could have sworn a very nice scent hit my nose but it only lasted for a while, the letter was definitely dropped minutes ago. I looked around once more but this time, I was checking if the owner might still be close by or at least returning in search of it but there was no one. I brought out the pink paper inside the envelope, what a beauty, the paper had imprinted designs of flowers on it and it definitely smelled nice.

My eyes went in search of an address or number but there was none, I folded the paper back into the envelope and headed back home with the envelope of course, I had decided to read the letter at home...

On getting home, after showering, I sat down on my bed with the letter in my hand thinking if I was doing a bad thing by reading the letter, my subconscious💨 answered saying it wasn't a bad thing and besides I would figure out who the letter was for or who wrote it and deliver it back to whomever I find first, right?🧐 Was I planning on doing that? I thought, I guess I will have to, it was the right thing to do.

I carefully opened the envelope again and brought of the paper, it was definitely scented, I brought it closer to my nose, a hint of rose knocked my nose, followed by strawberry and two other scents I can't name, the writer of the letter must be a lover of fragrance, even more, must be an artist or has artistic knowledge.

The letter was carefully written in Segoe Script hand writing, hmm, must be a scholar. Looking closer, I discovered the letter wasn't written in English except from the 'DEAR OBADIAH' salutation. I didn't major in French but I know French when I see it, it wasn't, I don't think it's Spanish either.

I picked my phone 📱 and typed a word from the body of the letter, Google replied word not found❌. What kind of language was this that's not even on Google, maybe, just maybe it's a language like the Jungle language or B language but this isn't it. I guess the couple must have formulated their language, funnily, I do imagine my future partner and I having a discussion with a language no one understands except us, I guess I was not the only one fantasizing🥲.© Soul Scribbles

That jogging story is interesting. I've found random things on my walks too. Picking up that red envelope was tempting, just like you said. Did you end up reading the letter? What would you have done if you found an address to contact Vanessa?
