"MBA: A Smart Move or Just a Trend?"

"A Father and Son's Simple Lesson on the Value of an MBA"

By siddharth parabPublished about a year ago 1 min read

On a sunny afternoon, Raj and his young son Arjun sat on a park bench. They watched other kids playing on the swings and slides.

Arjun looked up and asked, “Dad, why do some kids swing higher than others?”

Raj smiled, appreciating his son's curiosity. “Well, it depends on how much they push themselves and how they start. Some of them might get a push from someone else, and that helps them go higher.”

Arjun thought for a moment. “Like when you push me to start, right?”

“Exactly,” Raj nodded. “And that’s kind of like what grown-ups do with their education and careers. Sometimes, they get an extra push to go higher, like getting an MBA.”

Arjun looked up, puzzled. “What’s an MBA?”

“It’s a special degree that helps people learn more about business and management,” Raj explained. “It can help them do better at their jobs, just like a push helps you swing higher.

Arjun nodded slowly. “But do all grown-ups need an MBA?”

Raj chuckled, “Not everyone, Arjun. Just like not every kid needs a push to swing high, not everyone needs an MBA to do well. Some people are already swinging high on their own. Others might need that extra push.”

So, if someone doesn’t need it, they shouldn’t get it?” Arjun asked, concentrating.

It’s about knowing where you are and what you need. If you’re already swinging high, you might not need that extra push. But if you’re stuck and want to go higher, an MBA could help.”

Arjun looked at the swings again, watching a boy who was just starting to push himself higher. “I think I get it, Dad. It’s not about the push—it’s about knowing when you need it.”

Raj nodded, proud of his son. “Exactly, Arjun. Life is about making the right choices at the right time.”

Arjun grinned, feeling a bit wiser, and ran off to join the other kids, ready to swing on his own.
