~ LUCA ~
I pried my eyes open to an empty space right next to my figure. The sheets wrinkled on that spot where Suzy ought to have been, yet, her absence was all I was found with.
The door to my room tore open, and then came the form of Albert strutting in. His eyes came settling on my naked body laid on the bed, and with a weak sigh escaping his lips, I heard the words from the man.
"Signor...I was kind enough to dismiss the lady..." He poured in a breath.
"...but I ensured to have her settled generously"
There came a moment of quietude, with neither of us uttering a word to the other, not until the words of Albert began.
"Don't you think this lifestyle is turning into much of a concern?"
I couldn't tell if those words of his demanded a response from me, I only stayed in my position watching him with a dead stare.
"Perhaps, it's time to have a rethink of the choices one makes, Signor Bonnucci"
"You're killing yourself slowly"
And at his words I only fell back, a weak sigh emitted from me.
Albert had been my butler for years, and as much as I knew, he cared about my well-being even more than I knew.
What would I have done without the fellow?
He was the same man who found me at the beach, that night Isabella was whisked away from me.
And ever since then, his eyes were the only eyes to have grasped all of the nonsense I indulged myself in, the different ladies I brought into my home.
I watched the gaze of Albert pause on me, and with a nod, he had turned around, taking his leave.
Not even a second after his absence, I took to my feet, fetching my clothes off the drawer.
Perhaps, the man was right, it's high time I had a re-think of these darning choices, and how much I was filling an empty space in my heart with yet another empty space.
But that's the problem. I couldn't feel a thing. Nothing at all! Perhaps, that was what made my acts most acceptable to me, cause there was no guilt to rid off.
I snatched my keys off the dresser, hurrying out of the room.
The morning sky didn't seem so receptive, dark clouds having formed around, the sound of its grumbles, broke around the area.
I could only imagine how the rest of the day would go.
Taking my place in the driver's seat, I zoomed the Bentley out of my home.
~~~
The streets were found empty at the hour, a few cars to be seen around, and with the rain which had once threatened the morning having commenced its downpour, the road got even scantier with vehicles.
I was maneuvering my car through a junction, taking the shorter path which led home, when some red car out of nowhere rammed into mine, sending my vehicle onto the sidewalk.
Unfortunately, a pole was only what I bumped into.
I heard the sound of tires skidding, soon coming to a halt, and the next thing which followed was the faint sound of footsteps incoming, light click of heels becoming even prominent as they made their way over.
"...I - am so sorry" That voice came in stutters, laced with an accent, howeeominimal in my ears, it was one to be deduced.
And all though the time, I undid my seatbelt, proceeding out of the car, that figure just remained out there gaping at me.
I bothered not sparing a glance at whoever this person was, I only made my way examining the rear of my car.
"I was on my phone, I hadn't seen you driving out on the street" Came the voice. "You should think of using your car's horn next time, and certainly your trafficator"
I spun around at once, not believing the guts of this damsel.
What the hell did she mean by using my horn? She was in fact the one who collided with me, not the other way around.
Yet for some reason, every misunderstanding I had spawned about, only got so faint the instant I pried at the lady.
That profile.
There was something about that profile.
Now believe me, it wasn't how those plump lips of hers craved for some attention, or how her gaze did so well in accessing me, but it was just some familiarity which came with that face.
And only when I took a step back, did it all come dawning.
"Giorgia?"
