
She took herself to bed, sobbed to sleep, as I arranged a selection of knives in order of future usage.
Oh. You’re probably wondering why she’s called the girl that got away. Subterfuge and pretty distraction led me to erase her from life. She only got away with my help.
Rather than worrying about the act, my focus was on the assurance that there would be no sign that anything had happened at all.
One of the most intriguing figures in Greek mythology was the happy drunk Silenus. As he was seen as a wise old satyr, he was asked what the best thing for a person was. He replied, with reluctance, that never being born at all was the best fate for mortals. Second to that was to die as soon as possible, because death brings relief from life’s miseries.
I am not Silenus.
