ILLUSION OF TIME
Time is often described as relentless, but it also teaches us the value of patience, reminding us to await our moment. These words, whether penned by those desperate or content, reflect the abstract nature of time. It can be seen as an illusion, a force that shapes our existence and influences our thoughts. The past, present, and future are distinct realms, each filled with countless possibilities, uncertainties, and potentialities. Personally, I choose to focus on the present, believing that by improving it, I’ll be better equipped to face the future.
Living in the moment is akin to gazing into a mirror, where a reflection smiles outwardly but conceals a deeper reality. Our external image, much like what others perceive of us, lacks emotions, pain, or joy, merely mirroring the surface. Yet, underneath this façade, we continually strive for self-improvement, happiness, and perfection, often concealing our vulnerabilities in a world that can be harsh. Although the concept of sowing and reaping suggests that what we give is what we receive, life can be unfair, leaving us bruised and heartbroken despite our best intentions.
We exist to experience life’s challenges, love despite potential heartache, smile through tears, search without always finding, and give without expecting equal returns. In this complex world, we often build emotional walls to safeguard our fragility from external negativity, but it is within these walls that we confront our inner demons and wrestle with our deepest thoughts. Happiness often eludes us there, peace may wage a constant battle, and freedom might feel like a distant myth.
So, dear future self, I want you to know that I haven’t given up despite facing rejection, acceptance self-doubt, failure, and moments of self-sabotage. Like a phoenix, I have risen from my own ashes. While I cannot predict the challenges we will encounter in the future, I believe they can’t be more daunting than those of the past. Let us never contemplate surrender, for we have come a long way. Let us strive for success and ensure that our sacrifices were not in vain.
