Eclipsed Souls: A Tale of Twin Flames
Chapter 16: The Spirit of the Island

The early morning sun peeked through the thin curtains of the Bed and Breakfast, casting a warm golden glow across the room. Arnaz and Saliza stirred from their sleep, feeling the serene energy of the island as they prepared for the day ahead. The air was thick with tranquility, but also a subtle undercurrent of something mystical that neither could quite define.
Their hosts, Madam Kates and Sir Shakes, were waiting for them in the dining hut. A stately couple with an air of wisdom, Madam Kates and Sir Shakes carried themselves with a quiet reverence for the land.
Over breakfast, Madam Kates shared the story of her ancestors, a tale woven deep into the fabric of Dayang Bunting Island.
"Many centuries ago," Madam Kates began, her voice soft yet commanding, "this island was home only to the spirits. The entire expanse was their sanctuary, untouched by human hands. But that changed when a fisherman, seeking refuge after his boat capsized, landed on the island."
Arnaz and Saliza exchanged curious glances, leaning in to listen more intently.
"The fisherman encountered the Spirit Princess by the beach," Madam Kates continued, her eyes gleaming with the weight of the tale. "She had never seen a human before and was captivated by him. She wanted to bring him to her realm, but her father, the King of the Spiritual Realm, forbade it."
"The King eventually relented," Sir Shakes interjected, his deep voice resonating like the low rumble of distant thunder. "Out of love for his daughter, he granted her a portion of the island. Just a quarter. To reign alongside the human. It was the beginning of human settlement on Dayang Bunting Island, next to the spiritual realm."
Madam Kates smiled softly. "Our family descends from that union. We have been the spiritual caretakers of this island ever since, ensuring that the spirits and humans coexist in harmony. The mystical balance of this place is delicate. If either realm disrespects the boundaries, the tranquility of the island could be disrupted."
Saliza felt a shiver run down her spine as the story ended. There was something about the island, its air, its energy, that resonated deeply within her, awakening her connection to the spiritual realm. As the Queen of Darkness, she could sense a shift in the island's atmosphere, as though the spirits were watching them, waiting.
After breakfast, Sir Shakes invited them to board his yacht for a sail around the island. The sun hung low in the sky as they glided across the sparkling blue waters. The breeze was light, carrying with it the scent of salt and tropical flowers, and the rhythmic sound of the waves against the yacht was soothing. As they sailed around the island, Sir Shakes pointed out hidden coves, towering cliffs, and secluded beaches that held both historical and mystical significance.
“This island has many secrets,” Sir Shakes said, his eyes squinting against the sunlight as he steered the yacht. “Some of them are for humans to discover. Others belong solely to the spirits.”
The journey around the island felt like a tranquil dream, but beneath the calm surface, Arnaz and Saliza could feel the island’s energy pulsating, connecting with their own inner powers. As they gazed out over the landscape, it was as though the island was alive, breathing and watching them with an ancient consciousness.
Sir Shakes anchored the yacht at a small harbor by the beach. From there, they disembarked and began their journey on foot, following a narrow path that wound through the lush tropical forest. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and foliage, and the sound of birds and distant rustling created a serene atmosphere.
After a short walk, the path opened up to reveal the mystical Dayang Bunting Lake, nestled in the heart of the island. They settled on the soft grass near the water’s edge. It was now 10 AM, the best time to swim in the lake according to Sir Shakes, when the waters were said to be most rejuvenating, brimming with spiritual energy.
Lila and her boyfriend spread out a picnic blanket, but Lila’s attention barely lingered on the food. Her eyes constantly flicked toward Arnaz, her attraction and obsession growing with every passing moment. She edged closer to him, her movements subtle but unmistakable, while Arnaz responded with his usual sarcastic, polite avoidance, deftly sidestepping her advances.
Saliza, as always, sensed Lila’s undercurrent of desperation, but her focus was drawn elsewhere. The island’s energy was shifting, intensifying around them. She and Arnaz exchanged a knowing look. The air around them was electric, as if the island was waking up, responding to their presence. The spiritual energy of the lake was heightening their powers, amplifying their senses.
After a light picnic, they made their way closer to the lake’s shore. The water shimmered with an ethereal glow, reflecting the sunlight like polished glass. As Arnaz and Saliza approached the lake, they felt it again, that same pulsating energy, beckoning them deeper into the island’s mysteries. Lila and her boyfriend seemed oblivious to it, but Arnaz and Saliza knew that something was about to reveal itself.
The island’s spirit had recognized them.
Without a word, the two of them began to wade into the lake, its waters cool and inviting. As they ventured further, the water rose around them, and they felt themselves being drawn into a rhythm, a pull deeper into the heart of the island. The energy wrapped around them, and before long, they stood before a hidden cave at the lake’s edge.
It had not been there before or perhaps it had always been there, just waiting for them to find it.
The entrance was concealed by overgrown vines and moss, as though the island had intentionally hidden it from the outside world. But now, as Arnaz and Saliza approached, the vines parted on their own, revealing the dark, yawning mouth of the cave. The air inside was cool and thick with mystery.
Lila, standing further back, watched with frustration as the entrance opened for Arnaz and Saliza but remained closed to her. She could feel the island’s energy around her, but it did not welcome her the same way. Her envy only deepened, fueling the obsession she could no longer control.
Arnaz and Saliza exchanged one last glance, knowing instinctively that this cave held the answers they had been searching for the secrets of their Twin Flame bond, their powers, and their destiny. Hand in hand, they stepped into the darkness, leaving the shimmering lake and the world they knew behind.
