Chapter 30: A Clash of Titans
Twins Mirrored Souls

The arena was alive with tension as Jaeha and Hojin clashed swords, the sound of metal ringing through the air like a battle cry. Seojin watched from the sidelines, his heart racing with each movement of his brother. He could see the determination in Jaeha’s eyes, a fierce desire to protect their bond and prove their love was stronger than any societal constraints.
Jaeha felt the adrenaline coursing through him as he faced Hojin. With every strike and parry, he pushed back against the darkness that threatened to engulf them. Hojin was cunning, using speed and deception to try and gain the upper hand, but Jaeha’s training was rigorous, honed by years of dedication and love for his brother.
The crowd’s roars echoed around them, a mix of support for Jaeha and tension as they realized the stakes. Jaeha could feel their energy fueling him, their hopes intertwined with his fate. Hojin’s eyes narrowed as he saw Jaeha’s growing confidence, and the nobleman lashed out with renewed fury.
“Do you really think you can win, Jaeha?” Hojin taunted, sweat beading on his forehead. “Your love for Seojin is a weakness, and I will exploit it!”
With that, Hojin lunged forward, his blade aimed straight for Jaeha’s heart. Seojin gasped, his instincts screaming for him to intervene. But Jaeha was faster, sidestepping and using Hojin’s momentum against him. The elder twin twisted, bringing his sword down in a graceful arc that caught Hojin off guard.
The duel raged on, each brother showcasing their skill and resolve. Jaeha fought not just for himself but for Seojin, channeling every ounce of love and determination into each strike. As the fight wore on, Jaeha noticed Hojin’s breath becoming labored, his movements slowing. This was Jaeha’s chance.
“Enough of this charade!” Jaeha roared, his voice booming over the crowd. “I will not allow you to dictate our lives any longer!”
With a fierce cry, he charged at Hojin, the world around them fading into a blur. In a powerful swing, Jaeha aimed to end the duel, striking with a force that could shatter mountains. The blade connected with Hojin’s sword, sending a shockwave through the arena.
Hojin stumbled back, and for a moment, it seemed as if victory was within Jaeha’s grasp. But just then, Hojin’s eyes glinted with something darker—a calculated desperation. “If I can’t have you, Seojin, then neither will he!” Hojin hissed, his voice low and menacing.
Jaeha felt a cold wave of fear wash over him as Hojin aimed his sword toward Seojin, who stood frozen, his face pale. In that instant, Jaeha’s protective instincts ignited. Without thinking, he lunged forward, intercepting Hojin’s blade with his own, sparks flying as the two swords collided.
“Stay away from him!” Jaeha shouted, anger fueling his strength. Seojin’s heart raced as he witnessed Jaeha’s fierce protectiveness, a reminder of the lengths his brother would go to keep him safe.
The crowd erupted into chaos, their cheers mingling with gasps of horror. Jaeha, feeling the weight of their eyes upon him, knew he had to end this once and for all. With a newfound determination, he pushed Hojin back, his mind racing with strategies and possibilities.
“Seojin!” Jaeha called, glancing back at his brother. “Get to safety!”
“No!” Seojin protested, stepping forward. “I won’t leave you!”
“Trust me!” Jaeha urged, his voice steady. “You need to be safe. I can’t protect you if you’re in danger.”
In that moment of vulnerability, Jaeha saw the depth of Seojin’s love reflected in his brother’s eyes. But there was no time to dwell on it; Hojin was recovering, rage fueling his next move.
The duel continued, each fighter pushing their limits. Jaeha’s muscles burned, and the pain coursing through his body only fueled his resolve. He had to protect Seojin, not just from Hojin’s blade but from the consequences of this fight.
Suddenly, with a final surge of power, Jaeha launched himself at Hojin, channeling everything he had learned, every moment of pain and struggle. The arena held its breath as the two swords clashed in a breathtaking moment of intensity, the outcome hanging precariously in the balance.
