Lair

By Skyler SaundersPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

With each step, Loreen walked into the Collectivists’ lair.

“I cannot arrest you for reasons I’m not law enforcement and you are not lawful criminals, just philosophical ones.”

“Where’s Altruismo when you need him?” asked Socialista with a sigh.

“He’s your main competitor. We can show Mystic Wick and even present Statist, but he’s the one you are afraid to battle.”

“Afraid? It’s like despise too much to even deal with his ugly agenda,” Loreen fired back. The Collectivists slithered down from their places and stood on thr floor. Common Man looked at Loreen.

“C’mon. If it weren’t for capitalists like you, I wouldn’t have my power and vice versa. We should team up soon,” he suggested.

“I wouldn’t work with you if you presented me with the millions you own despise your hatred for those who’ve their fortunes.”

Socialista slinked even lower. “You’ve gotta sacrifice. Give up! All of your morals and ethics must be relinquished. Come to our side and we’ll make better businesses and have a sunny future.”

Loreen burst out laughing. “Your delusions continue to tickle me. You all have this sense that capitalism is not attached to ethics or epistemology. You’re all not only morally bankrupt, but refuse to see your own corrupt souls that are overdrawn at the moral bank account.”

“I think you’ll come around,” Fascender noted under his breath. “You’re going to succumb to the potent nature of our ideas.”

“I came here not to join the club but to issue a warning. You all have the same root which is the elevation and faith in the group. I came here to let you know your defeat is at hand.”

It seemed like ice had been poured down the Collectivist’s backs. Then they all sneered and looked at the traffic passing them.
