Businesswoman Chapter 69
Loreen visits the site of another shooting death in Wilmington, Delaware.

Another candle struggled to stand still. The wavering subsided as a woman picked it up and put it in the path of a doorstop amongst flowers and teddy bears. A dozen people congregated around the makeshift memorial.
Loreen walked over and met up with the deputy commissioner of the Wilmington State Police, Rondo Causewell.
“Now, I know you’re not the traditional crime fighter. We’re glad you’re not a vigilante. But we would love to know the roots of making this city the greatest,” Causewell mentioned to Loreen. Lisa still studied.
“I can outline the main things: Get rid of the minimum wage and other controls on the job market; allow for more guns to the populace; and legalize all narcotics.”
“Wow! You really are radical.”
“That’s right.”
“Now you already know I only enforce laws. It will be up to the legislators to all of that. What can we do now?”
“Start snitching. Give people the chance to give tips, point out in courts, and overall drop dimes in the nefarious characters who stalk these streets,” Loreen explained.
“We’ve tried that in the past and were met with mixed results. As we use our own policing and abilities to meet up with the neighbors who use these streets, it’s harder to get people to tell. They fear retribution against themselves and their families.”
Loreen breathed. “Never mind that. Remember that the reason why these people are gunning each other down in the streets is because they need to feel agency. Even as someone sweeping up after a shift has the capability to be someone who is important and earns a wage. But they’ll never get to be someone paid $2 if there are laws barring thethem.”
“And the guns?”
“Adults should be strapped.”
“Drugs?”
“Make them part of the law.”
