Loreen and Lisa met up at the Mercier Hotel restaurant for brunch. It had been two days since their last crusade. They sat and ordered chef salads with truffles.
“So, how do you think most people view billionaires?” Lisa asked with sincerity in her voice.
“Considering we’re both about to be in that camp, I love them. Every time someone sees a billionaire, they should smile at the very least.”
“Why?”
“It is because they must’ve made some product or service that made their life better, more comfortable, more relaxing, more engaging, more fun.”
“That’s what I think, too. I see ourselves as the guardians for the men and women of merit who have earned their dollars through the power of their notebooks and the breath from their exhalations.”
Lisa stabbed at the little tomatoes with her fork. “You know, I’ve always wondered why the hostility and envy for the people who almost literally run this world.”
“It’s not ‘almost.’ It’s a fact. The world would spin off it’s axis if these men and women just decided to drain themselves from the world’s markets. There’s a book about it. I can give it to you.”
“I think I’ve read that already.”
“So, that was the question you wanted to ask? It isn’t like you to want to know what you already know….”
“I realize that, but I just enjoy another perspective. I had to see what you were going to say. We agree.”
“Yes, that’s what we have concluded. But it is deeper and at the same simpler.” It was like she had shifted gears in a high performance race car. Her power to propel any conversation forward allowed her to remain steadfast.
“We’re out here fighting for every businessperson but I think the billionaires are most hated,” Lisa explained.
