In the deepest of the night, Lisa struggled to get sleep. Devlin lay beside her and extended a hand. She accepted it. She turned to him.

“When will this nightmare be over?”

“When you say it is done.”

He then kissed her cheek and rolled over and turned on the light. He dressed and prepared for the gym.

Lisa fell fast asleep. Loreen and Entrepreneur Paul both wished to comfort Lisa in any way they could. They instituted a fifty million dollar reward for anyone with information regarding the theft of Lisa’s hard drive.

The way this transaction reverberated through the culture stirred up hatred.

“How could they have that big of a reward when terrorists and serial killers don’t even get that much attached to their names?” A plump woman asked ngnaeing on a neckbone.

“They’re crazy! This is absurd…just one little old hard drive and there’s missing children out here?” A businessman queried.

“Doesn’t law enforcement handle that anyway?” A young man with a scar on his lip wondered.

Loreen and Entrepreneur Paul nevertheless knew the proper channels to advocate for Lisa. The truth remained. The hard drive didn’t just get stolen. Also, outlines and plans for the next ten years had been ripped away from her. Her friends looked on monitors and found various routes for her to recover what some miscreant had stolen from her.

Lisa woke to the news of the reward. She almost teared up a bit. Her lip trembled, though.

“I know that wasn’t the cops. Do they even take private donations?”

“They took ours,” Entrepreneur Paul mentioned in a video chat.

“We’re ensuring that we track down whoever made it their mission to spend the next few decades behind bars,” Loreen added.

“I thank you both so much for being good friends.”
