Frigid cold air passed through the passageway. Lisa and Devlin dressed in a camel hair coat with boots and a peacoat with Oxfords, respectively.

“I wish I knew that the instruments—”

“The bassoonists were out of step. The clarinetists picked up the slack of the string section which faltered. Especially the violas. Marcus Wellington is always a top form conductor.”

“I was going to say I wish that the instruments were for sale. Wow! You know the symphony.”

“My father was a concert hall pianist for thirty years. I grew up around instrumentalists, musicians, angels, scoundrels. I knew their personal lives and how excellent they were on that stage.”

Their breath condensed with the air and great puffs exhaled from their lungs. A vehicle that Lisa had hailed on her smartphone rolled up to the two of them, walking on the street.”

“Wow! You’re an orchid. You’ve got unfolding petals of memory all wrapped around you.”

Lisa smirked. She turned to him and mentioned, “Thank you for this evening. Stepping out tonight was a boon to my soul.”

They kissed. and then looked ahead as the car slinked its way to the condominium.

“Hasta will be making dinner. Salmon. Lemon and snow peas.”

“Good. Good. Good. That sounds especially good,” he smiled. They exited and got into the elevator. When they opened the doors they found that the door had been ajar.

“No!” Lisa ran to her computer. The external hard drives had been stripped of their original position. In the time it must have taken for them to enjoy the concerto, crooks decided to hit her office, her bedroom, her home. Everything else looked like it had been intact. Even her jewels remained together and the closet with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of clothing remained virtually untouched.
