Lisa lay in her bed with Devlin. Their heartbeats almost matched the other. She used her fingers to cup his brown face.

“You’re the other side of my joy. My work is of course my other half, but you are the reason why I have a fullness in my life.”

Devlin grinned. “You’re not my equal. I’m greater than you. That’s why I reap joy from your smarts and excellent looks. Your mind and body propel my work and lead me to heights not yet explored.” He got out of bed and dressed. She followed him but did not dress. She stood naked and clean. Her ebony body soaked in the rays of sunshine coming through her window.

She walked behind him and thrust her hands around his waist.

“We should do something today,” she suggested.

“Like what?”

“I don’t know. A museum? The movies?”

“That sounds good.” She journeyed into the shower. Devlin had not brought a change of clothes and quickly scurried to the shower. With the water running, he kissed her mouth.

“Let’s go to the Gaskins Museum and I’ll meet you there in an hour,” he directed.

“Yes. Let’s,” she agreed and kissed him again. He left her house. With the water playing tricks on her skin, she felt the pleasant sting of the jets of liquid expelled from the shower head. After, a saffron-colored dress adorned her curves. Lotions and perfume put a light freshness to her body. Her mind channeled to the fact she would be going out on the town to see actual art. There would be moments that would make her want to kneel at the majesty of atheist works. Her anticipation kept going until her heart fluttered.

She looked at the Eudomonia site one last time that day. She just laughed.
