Upon their arrival to the scene, Loreen and Lisa both looked at the smoldering wreckage. When two aircraft slammed into each other midair, this caused their Business Sense to function.

“So all of this is covered by government agencies, so all of this, the perished souls on these aircraft are the responsibility of the federal government….” Loreen posited.

“Yes. There were no survivors in the helicopter or the plane.”

“We have to talk about it. With all the regulations and controls in place by the State, we can only shine a light on their dealings. With private professionals ensuring that both military and civilian or commercial aircraft and traffic are safe, this may not have happened.”

“Here’s the thing,” Lisa started. “They’re probably going to institute even more legislation to throttle the industry of aviation. Now, I think private contractors should be able to govern the military aircraft. But that’s it. No engagement with the enemy.”

Loreen crossed her arms and walked around the site. A man of hefty build lumbered over to the two women.

“Chief inspector, Bud Phillips. It’s a pleasure to meet you both. Sorry it had to be under these circumstances,” he breathed.

“Yes, Bud. I’m Loreen—”

“I know who you are. I asked my secretary to text you.” He said it like he was talking about sending for some mythical angels to descend from the heavens.

“We’re both devastated at what happened.”

“Yes, I’m one of only three…three private agencies who nust fulfill the role of assessing this wreckage and the aftermath. What can you do?”

“We can, again, petition the government to only allow privatized inspectors to investigate all forms of air travel,” Lisa explained.

“I’ve tried it.”

“We know,” Loreen said. “Five years ago, three years ago, and last year. We’ll fight now.”
