Roars and screams and the sound of metal rattling against metal filled Entrepreneur Paul’s ears. He walked in a gray t-shirt and blue jeans and boots. Next to him strolled park owner Ken Kingslover. He wore a dress shirt unbuttoned at the top and khaki trousers and loafers.
“Here is the idea…” Kingslover laid it all out.
“We start construction in Delaware in six months. All of the attractions will be available for the public in about two years. Delaware will be a destination for fun.”
Entrepreneur Paul looked at the intricacies of the rollercoasters and the various themes of the park in New Jersey. It had been a few years and this park began failing.
“Okay,” he said. “So, if you didn’t perform here, what makes you think Delaware will be the best fit for a successful park?”
Kingslover chuckled a bit. “We’ve got that covered. The state of Delaware is a mystery. It’s allegedly boring. But it has a mystique. It’s been called the diamond state, but that’s only in relation to other cities and states. What we’re planning is to have the fastest, tallest and longest coaster in the world.” Ambition dripped from his lips as he placed his hands in front of him. He then picked them up and waved in the air.
“We’re going to have the theme of the Revolution and Delaware’s role in it.”
“Won’t that be another example of Delaware’s history and being behind the times?” asked Entrepreneur Paul.
Kingslover laughed. It seemed light and free. “There’s no doubt Delaware possesses a sense of not being a destination place or that only the beaches draw in crowds during the summer months. I’ve observed with the advent of safer, stronger, more technologically inclined designs for this place, the fun will follow.”
“I see.”
