The thought of hungry families rankled Loreen. With her vast fortune, she could afford a chef to make gourmet meals at her request. In the time it took her to sit down and have a meal with Herschel and her children, there would be more individuals without a proper dinner.

She started a letter that addressed the government. By calling for city, state, and federal governments to cease all programs targeted at ending hunger, Loreen leaned into the idea of ridding the government of its Nanny tendencies.

To her, the government was a missile and not baby formula. She wrote with furious intent in long hand. As she transposed the writings to her computer, she began to tear up a bit but didn’t permit a tear to fall. A lump in her throat swelled as she drew up this contract with the various governments.

In her mind, she felt the sting not of guilt but embarrassment. It was not directed at her riches but after the politicians who mouthed thoughts of providing food to people among other issues like healthcare.

Loreen noted that to fully address this situation, she would need to use tact. She remained polite but also precise. Her fingers glided over the keyboard as she scanned the letter.

The handwritten words became a typed out text in seconds. She breathed. The power of the press still showed itself in her ability to convey a message. Then, she noticed how her tone had become a bit miffed in the writing. While justified, she knew she would have to be more amiable.

Any letters barking about how the government should only protect individual rights would more than likely get discarded with swiftness.

For her to arrange words and delete others and to fully exhibit her ideas, this meant something.
