“What?!” Socialists gasped.

“The Indies. They’re here!” Common Man yelped. The police continued to press against the rioters. Entrepreneur Paul parked his chopper. Loreen and Lisa piled into Loreen’s Goulding.

The loudness of the events taking place reverberated in their minds. Loreen turned to Lisa and held her hand. “We’re only here to divert attention. I have helmets for us. Entrepreneur Paul has his. I’ve also got gas masks and non-lethal pistols.”

Lisa nodded, noting Loreen’s preparedness. She had never handled a firearm. Sweat appeared on her forehead in small droplets.

“I want you near us. We’re going to be near the front. Are you ready for that?”

“Yes.”

Entrepreneur Paul received his gas masks and they all looked as if they had been selected for some scifi Blaxploitation film.

They walked with intrepidity.

“They’re getting closer!” Fascinder shouted.

The attention then shifted against the police and focused on the trio of businesspeople. Then, a vehicle with an Active Denial System (ADS). This device made it seem like the skin became inflamed momentarily. The rioters backed down but the Collectivists broke off from the group. They approached the Individualists.

The stand off started in a parking lot.

“You’re nothing,” Loreen spoke first.

“Clearly we must be something if hundreds of people show up and come to our aid….” Common Man fired back.

“Just because you have been engaged in a total mess doesn’t make you taller in moral stature….” Entrepreneur Paul intoned.

Socialista looked at Loreen and Lisa. “Businesswoman! Businessgirl! You should be ashamed to even be associated with this cretin!” She pointed at Entrepreneur Paul.

Fascinder snickered. “What do you think of all this? We’re out here in the bowels of the city progressing against the culture of greed and graft. We’ve committed no crimes. We just have ideas.”
