Businesswoman Chapter 258
Lucre
In front of a theater of about a thousand with millions more online, Entrepreneur Paul considered the interview as one with potential. The Mercier Hotel in Wilmington, Delaware provided for a healthy night of questions and answers. It held the weight of his framework for all his companies. To say that he felt excited would be a profound understatement.
“Mr. Atkinson…Entrepreneur Paul?” er Zin Dask queried.
“Entrepreneur Paul. I have the rights to the name.” Some light laughter and a few claps followed.
“Alright, how much are you worth?” Interview
“Wow! We’re starting out with that? I don’t divulge my net worth like that. There are plenty of magazines that ‘rank’ my fortune, but I don’t think it’s proper or anyone’s business to know how much I make.”
More applause. “Okay, switching gears, why do you have money?”
“What do you mean?” Entrepreneur Paul asked.
“I mean what is the point of having close to a trillion dollars according to Lucre magazine?”
“That’s not an accurate and definitely not a precise figure. I will say, though, that you get money to start and run businesses. Clichés are that way because they’re true. You’ve heard the saying ‘you’ve gotta have money to make money.”
“Yes, but why so much? Can’t you get by on lesser funds?”
“Of course, but that’s not the point. You earn money to further your time. The more money you make, the more time you have to do what you wish.”
“Why stay in Delaware. You could go to the Silicons: Valley, Prairie, Forest, Alley ...why the First State?”
“I love this place. It’s like a cellar door. It doesn’t look like much but when you enter it, you are immersed in a world of wonder.”
“Last question…are you happy,” Dask asked.
“I’m totally overjoyed,” Atkinson relayed.
