Visiting the doctor always gave Entrepreneur Paul a sense of fear. He could stare down a multi-billion-dollar deal with aplomb. He could liquidate businesses simply. What he struggled to do haunted him most: get a shot for flu season. The aversion to needles made him want to invest in some alternative way of administering the drug.

“I’m glad you’re here, Mr. Atkinson,” Nurse Kilna Borston acknowledged. She had flowing blonde locks that complimented her coconut shell complexion.

“I’m surprised,” he retorted. A grin slid its way onto his face.

“Well, this is a very quick little jab, as you know,” Kilna gave him a grin as well.

“I just want to revolutionize the medical profession. I want it to be totally private. Everything has to be apart from the government. All the medical staff from the administration professionals down to the lowest orderlies should be empowered by the market, not bureaucrats. I’m still working on it, but I know that it will take time to change others’ minds. We’ve made strides in altering the way people look at medicine. Most people feel that the expertise and experience is a given. Physicians and other pros should be regarded like everyone else who is in the market, not like chattel. There needs to be scalpels and computer systems for the medical world. Psychiatrists need to be compensated for their efforts just as the janitor should receive what she deserves. By getting the government out of healthcare we will have the opportunity to see not a nanny state but the liberation of a profound sector of our economy.”

“Mr. Atkinson…Mr. Atkinson…” Nurse Kilna patted him. “You’re all set.”

“Oh, that was quick.”

“I had finished moments ago, I just wanted to hear what you had to say. I agree completely.”

“Thanks,” he said.
