Businesswoman Chapter 238
Raise
For all the time she had spent building her businesses, helping other businesses, and creating even more wealth for herself, Loreen still looked for answers. In this search, what she yielded from this quest remained in her spirit. She scrolled through photos on her phone. A smile wrinkled her face slightly. Her movements called to mind a tinkerer who just finished a tiny robot.
With her digital wallet in display, she looked at a red message. It pertained to a $100,000 fine she would have to pay because she had placed too much signage on the Internet properties. She guffawed. A hundred thousand dollars meant as much to her as lint in her pockets. Then, she stopped laughing.
The idea of breaking one of the rules of the Web bothered her. It was like a sore festering in her mind. Again, she didn’t hurt for the money, only the reason why she had been restricted from further broadcasting her businesses until she paid the fine.
A message popped up on her screen.
“Answer?”
She selected the green button.
“Hello, Mrs. Breen.”
“Hi.”
“We’re calling in regard to blocked service on our Affiliates Program.” The face looked youngish. It was that of a college woman with brown hair and slate-blue eyes. Her name was Helvetica.
“I just noticed it. I just sent the money.”
Helvetica’s eyes turned to saucers. “I’m really about to fangirl out right now. I was trying to contain myself and maintain my composure…but you’re Businessewoman.”
“Yes, I am. Thank you for being a professional in all of this. Is there a supervisor or manager to say how great a job you’re doing. An older woman with dark features appeared on screen and smiled like a billion stars.
“Helvetica deserves a raise,” Loreen mentioned with complete, total sincerity.
