Burps from the .50 caliber machine gun pelted a tank five hundred yards away. Loreen trained her sights down range as she brought about destruction on her favorite target. Her earpiece notified her of a call.
“Hello,” she replied.
“Mrs. Breen, we’re asking for assistance with handling our business.”
“I’m tending to some business of my own at the moment. What does this entail?”
“I never properly introduced myself. I’m Dennison Cates. I run a medium size business.”
“What’s your business?” she asked.
“It deals with weapons safety programs for children. We specialize in safety measures to ensure that kids can safely handle firearms and know to never attempt to use them without adult supervision.”
Loreen’s eyes widened. “This is quite the coincidence. I’m at my firing range right now. What’s the issue?”
“We need to use your advertising connections to advocate for the Internet sites to host our ads.”
“That’s really not my expertise, but I will try to find the right people for this particular job.” Loreen could sense in Cates’ voice that he had soured.
“But you’re Businesswoman. You know how to do everything….”
“Almost everything. Just about anything. But I won’t give up something I care about. Safety is paramount to me and I presume it is for you as well. I will get in touch with some of my contacts.”
“Is that enough?” Cates asked.
“Of course. What, do you not want these contacts?” Loreen put a hand on her hip.
“No, no. I’m not saying that.”
“Okay. Do you have locks, safety classes?”
“Yes, both of those. We’re trying to take this company around the world. The Internet is our main channel.
“Once you make your money from these contacts, I want five percent of the revenue.”
“I can agree to that,” Loreen responded.
