A few swipes right still produced minimal results. Lisa’s eyes looked like lead bars held them half shut. She continued to explore the dating site nonetheless. A yawn escaped from her mouth as she sat in her fully furnished apartment.
Then, a match! The photo showed a young guy with immaculate corn rows and a clean smile. He looked the same brown color as Lisa. She searched further. He had attended First State Community College and studied cyber security.
She sent the first message. At the time, she felt it to be a bit forward, even too eager for the lady to make the first move. She didn’t care.
“Hey,” he responded. Her brain released oxytocin and serotonin. In this electronic exchange, she enjoyed speaking with Benson. Also, in the back of her mind, the inkling that this communication could crumble into nothingness formed.
“What are your top values?” Lisa asked.
“I cherish my liberty and abilities. You?”
“I love my work. I enjoy making investments leap off the page.”
With the function enabled for them to video chat, they both beamed at seeing the other.
“Wow, your house is amazing,” Benson acknowledged.
“Thank you. I like your poster.” Behind Benson stood a black background with a platinum six foot dollar sign.
“Thanks. So, have you always lived in Delaware?” he asked.
“Yes, I have. What about yourself?”
“I have, as well.”
“I have to confess something,” Benson ventured.
“You’re married….”
“Yes.”
“I knew it.”
“You did.”
A low miffed voice emitted from Lisa’s mouth.
“I’m sorry,….” Benson started.
“It’s okay. It’s my fault for thinking that this would be fruitful.”
Benson logged off his chat. Lisa looked about her home, wondering if it will ever be filled with the chortles of children and a loving husband. She got up.

When we look at our lives and the way we live them what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it the hobbies that we enjoy doing in our lives, or is it just how we live and show the world how our hobbies and life can work together? How is it that a person can live the way they do and have hobbies to make their life what it is for them? Is it just the things that they do in there lives to make it what it is, or is it the hobbies themselves and what they do to a person’s life when they do said things? I think it is how a person actually looks at their life, with all the things that a person has in their life, that makes it what it is with their hobbies. What that means is, people live the way they do because of their likes and dislikes. We wouldn’t all be different if we didn’t have those. If we didn’t have hobbies we wouldn’t really have lives, have you ever thought of that. Even when we work at a job hobbies come before that, because we always need ways to relax after a long day. We go to school, but after school we need something to calm our nerves and to give us a break, so what do we do? Well we do have a hobby of course. The question is how long have hobbies been around in our lives?
