A swim in her pool always relaxed Loreen. The water shimmered under the lights of the indoor setting. Coolness washed over her in immaculate fashion. If she were a believer, it would've baptized her. It felt like a cleansing of all the worry and stress that had built up in her life. She enjoyed the strain as it challenged her, but she relished the release.
Then, the lights of violet and blue in the pool illuminated indicating a video chat had reached her device.
“Answer the chat, please,” she announced.
The screen rose from a place at the center pool. Lisa’s face appeared. Her face told a tale of great regret and turmoil. Loreen picked up on this immediately.
“Did somebody hurt you?” Loreen queried with a mother’s care and intuitiveness.
“I’m just trying to keep my mind focused on this next move we’re all making,” Lisa explained. Loreen walked out of the pool and toweled off with precision.
“You’re not backing out are you?”
“No, it’s not that. It’s just that I want to do the best I can,” Lisa admitted.
“You will. You have nothing to worry about. Just watch Entrepreneur Paul and me. We’re accustomed to these deals. It’s nothing we have to worry about.”
Visibly, Lisa began to warm up a bit and the tiny creases in her forehead began to diminish.
“I just want to be more than the third wheel.”
“That’s why they make tricycles. You’re a vital part to this whole operation.” She had already started to re-enter her home after drying. She picked up her phone and the screen at the pool switched to the mobile device. Lisa’s face lit up the phone and Loreen dried off her inner ears and placed her power buds in her ears.
“That’s better,” Loreen mentioned.
