Businesswoman Chapter 152
Time

The time expired. Loreen got up from her desk and circled it like a tigress debating how to best devour its prey. She had three stop watches. Each one ticked at different times to indicate what part of the speech she would be able to fit into the presentation. She gave time for Lisa and then it swung back to her. This entire activity prompted her to stay focused on the task. A sense of stability assured her in this latest endeavor.
At four o’clock in the morning, she paced and murmured to herself the notes she had just written. This mantra sat well with Loreen, as she journeyed from one end of the room to the other. With corrections made, she continued to jot down notes in the margins of her yellow pad and then into the computer. Everything she counted on consisted of keeping the rhythm and timing of each beat. She even stressed the words and noted like she would be delivering a sonnet.
As she jotted down words, her St. Bernard Wemby came into her office. She held her in her hands and scratched behind her ears.
“You’re a good girl. Now, you gotta let mommy finish so we can get this money,” Loreen spoke to her companion. The dog exited the room just as quickly as she came. It all came down to the timing. If one of them got thrown off, both of them would be in the same predicament. Loreen noted this. She made sure she could balance the pressures of the job with her home life. Herschel and their two daughters had to be integrated into her work life. Of course, she valued them but no sacrifices existed between what she did for a career and how she treated her own family.

This description of Loreen's preparation is spot-on. I've been there, meticulously timing every part of a presentation. It's crucial to stay focused like she did. And balancing work and home life? That's a constant juggle. How do you think she managed to keep that rhythm so well without getting too stressed?
Loreen does have organizing skills and human skills too. Great story!
