In between her speeches, Loreen still collected substantial sums from various enterprises. Now, she considered the actual business of business. Comptroller Carey Dice looked clean and straitlaced. He seldom smiled and pulled from a vaporizer at his desk.
“There’s so many of them,” he blurted out, finally. “I can keep up with fifty, maybe one hundred but two hundred!” He nearly shrieked.
“It’s okay, Mr. Dice. We’re going to get through this together. That’s why I’m here. I looked at the various corporations included under the umbrella of businesses here in Delaware. It appears you can look after all of them with this software. You can download it from the internet. It’s just $99 to start.”
“This will free me up?”
“Yes.”
“But what about the fees and taxes?”
“A licensed CPA will grant you access to these documents and go over them with you,” Loreen assured.
“I’m the one who says that over half of the companies in America are incorporated right here in the First State. I have that solemn honor of telling the nation and the world that the little state that can is the place where most businesses call their corporate home.”
“That’s right.”
“But what about the new companies that come along? What will be their aim, their goal?”
“Like us all…to try to make as much money as possible. The program will permit you to take in the companies and ensure they’re robust and ready.”
Dice almost saluted Loreen.
“I thank you for this program.”
“My pleasure. Anything to help a businessman.”
“Absolutely. I just had another concern…will the companies still seek Delaware for incorporation?”
“I don’t see why they wouldn’t. This is the place where you can avoid certain taxes, regulations, and controls. It is a place where the dollar rules.”
“Thanks, again.”

This software sounds like it could really help Dice manage those companies. I wonder how well it'll work in the long run. And it's interesting that Delaware is such a popular place for incorporation because of tax and regulation benefits. Do you think other states will try to compete by offering similar advantages? It'd be cool to see how the business landscape changes if that happens.
Interesting. No taxes.
