Boldness empowered Entrepreneur Paul. His gait seemed smart but laid-back at the same time. He wore wheat boots, denim jeans, a flannel shirt and a leather jacket. He strolled into the c-suite office at Defy All Inc.
People started to stand.
“No, no, please sit,” he commanded with a gentle voice like a lion’s pur.
He stood in front of everyone and outlined what needed to be done.
“Firstly, you make sure the structure of your company is always put in place firmly. You don’t want any loose pieces scattered like flotsam.”
A hand raised. It belonged to Begonia Sinclar, 27. She looked pert and had a sweet voice.
“What about the customer?”
“You’re getting a little ahead of me, but I can break that down, too. The customer is there to consume the product, in this case, your website. You have a freemium model. Your users are only going to want quality. That should be your main draw. Once they look around your site and engage in it, they’ll take their free status and make it a paid one. We’ll get to that later.”
Begonia seemed satisfied with Atkinson’s answer. He continued.
“So, we have the structure of the company, everyone has a role to play that is pertinent and key. I don’t care if you’re grabbing coffee and donuts for the COO, make sure those donuts are fresh and the coffee hot. To you, CEO Boyd Carra, you’re going to be everything but a tyrant. You have to master the art of being in charge without barging your way through problems. Listen to your staff. If they have questions, answer them like I did with Miss Sinclair.”
The room appeared to transform. Atkinson’s words resonated with them but they still looked puzzled. He shook his head in dismay.
