As One Possessed

I’ve followed the witch throughout twenty-eight lifetimes, chased her across the changing continents, and pursued her on the seven seas. Each time I drew close to her, the sorceress slipped through my grasp, forever eluding my hold. Every place she has been, the murderess left behind nothing but death and destruction. My immortality depends upon hers, so her death I seek.

Since 14 AD, I’ve trailed behind the witch, looking for signs to lead me to her. At each village, at every town, I’m always a step behind, barely gaining on her. With every turn, I’ve had to be constantly on my guard to evade the snares she laid on my path, hoping to kill me but mostly to slow me down.

The times that I almost caught her, enchantress slipped through my hands, leaving mass destruction behind her. The death of millions in a plague was her doing, as was the sinking of magnificent ships. The murderess once made an entire community disappear just so that no one could provide clues to the direction she went. Her diabolical madness had no end.

Now in this modern age, my soul is growing tired of the pursuit. Standing at the dawn of a new era, my resolve grows firmer; I swear to The Morrígan that my mad chase will end before this year is out. I leave behind my offerings to my goddess and continue my search for the demoness who destroyed my life. Seeking to exact vengeance for that which was taken from me.
