A letter to a forgotten part of me
A Letter of Love, Healing, and Self-Recognition

Dear Younger Me,
I start by writing this letter commending you firstly for arriving at this destination. You should be immensely proud of yourself.
In this present moment, I envision giving the younger you a massive hug. Gosh, I felt every intention and every emotion in that hug. I felt love, protection, adoration, the light within you, resilience, compassion and joy, thank you.
I want you to know that all you had to endure in your young life was through no fault of your own. It was based on circumstances beyond your control. You did not consciously choose your childhood, it chose you and for reasons, you thankfully understand now.
As a result of those childhood circumstances, you naturally gravitated to surviving and my oh my did you master this way of being. Survival had you forget what creativity and being imaginative even means to you. What it looks like, what it feels like, what it means to simply dream. My sweet and vibrant darling, you completely lost it.
I hope you know that losing that part of yourself for so many years, was actually meant to happen, as it has led you to this very moment. You and I both know that we would not change it for the world. Divine timing, regardless of the circumstance.
Survival, we thank you for playing such a pivotal role in us getting here. Now, we release you and let you go with love, compassion and sheer gratitude. For now it is time for us to thrive and no longer survive.
