I was writing / editing the final manuscript of Protecting Sarah when my son was in intensive care. I was distraught as I watched his tiny body fight sepsis. After almost four weeks in hospital, I got to take him home. He survived, but it was a rollercoaster ride to get him there.

At the same time, there was a news report about a celebrity who went viral after being stalked, and it sparked my imagination. I always knew that Sarah and her kids had a separate story after the first Cedar’s Port book: Saving Joshua.

What if the situation was reversed? How would the community in Cedar’s Port react with a renown stalker on the loose?

Protecting Sarah is written from three viewpoints.

It shines a light on a community dealing with the over arching fear of a madman, from the viewpoint of a divorced single mom — Sarah. Her struggles to work, and juggle her kids is brought out in the open.

It is also written for those who have seen too much in the war zone and lived to tell their story. US Navy veteran Grant, arrives home after a life-changing injury in Afghanistan. He is suffering from PTSD, and has lost his will to live, while struggling with his injuries. Not even his own family can help him return to the land of the living.

A phone call from a friend in Cedar’s Port gives Grant an opportunity he cannot refuse. His favor to a friend results in him meeting Sarah and her kids, who are in desperate need of his help.

The third viewpoint is through a killer stalker. I take the reader inside the mind of a deranged killer with hair raising details.

Can the community of Cedar’s Port protect Sarah and her kids before it’s too late?

Dive into this emotional rollercoaster, if you dare.
