The Night We Played with the Ouija Board

A game that started as fun but ended with a message none of us expected

By Esta Published 8 months ago 1 min read

The night we decided to play with the Ouija board started like any other quiet evening filled with laughter and curiosity. Four friends gathered in a cozy living room where soft candlelight danced on the walls and shadows seemed to move gently with the flickering flames. The board lay on the floor waiting patiently as we placed our fingers lightly on the planchette. At first it did not move and we joked about how nothing was going to happen. Then slowly it began to glide across the board spelling out words that made our hearts skip a beat. It spelled a name we all recognized — Mark, the name of my friend’s older brother who had passed away two years ago. The room grew still and the air felt heavier as we asked if he was really there. The planchette answered with a yes and then a plea for help. A cold shiver ran down my spine as we wondered if this was a joke or something more. Then the board spelled one final word that changed everything — forgive. The message was clear and powerful and after that night we felt different. The Ouija board was carefully put away but the feeling of connection and the lesson about forgiveness stayed with us. Weeks later when my friend’s younger sister found an old photograph showing a faint shadow behind Mark it became clear that this was not just a game but a call for peace and understanding. We came together one last time to light candles share stories and say goodbye. The air felt warm and gentle as if a weight had been lifted and though the Ouija board stayed silent in the attic it left us with something far greater — a reminder that love and forgiveness reach beyond what we can see.
