Episode 1: "The Silence of Arundel"
There once was, in London, in the silent, misty district of Arundel, a girl called Lara Clark. She was seventeen, had piercing eyes, and was never afraid to ask the questions that nobody else would dare to ask.
She lived in a house with her twelve-year-old sister, Lana, who always had her nose in some magic, ghost, or mysterious disappearing trick book. Her mother, Dr. Eleanor Clark, was a highly regarded doctor at Arundel General Hospital — the kind of woman who never missed a day of work, never yelled, and always had her necklace with a dainty silver locket on.
It was one morning, a rainy day, when the Clark sisters were stirred by not the voice of their mother, but by silence.
A knock was heard at the door.
Two officers. Somber faces. Polite words.
"I'm sorry. Your mother… was found this morning. In the river at Mill Bridge. All indications are suicide." But Lara wasn't convinced. Neither was Lana. Her mother wouldn't have done that. She hated that bridge. She was scared of the water. And that morning, before she'd gone, she'd left something odd in Lara's notebook:
They're watching again. If anything has happened to me, don't trust the hospital. Check behind the mirror.
