The fear of growing older has got to be the norm of the day. In a generation where young adults are afraid of what tomorrow might hold, or how life will turn out after school, or how we will cope with families and responsibilities. We are scared of the unknown, we are scared of growing up too fast or too slow and not knowing how it would turn out. We are scared of the change in our bodies and lives in association with growing “old”. The truth is, nobody really knows or understand why it happens or why we can’t predict the future to know if one becomes successful or dies along the line of trying to achieve success. The real truth is that growing up is scary, maturing is complicated and so basic but needed. A wise sage once said”to know and understand both the old and young, you need to mature in mind and spirit “ and that said goes a long way. To understand life and people, one needs to grow both in mind and in age. Young adults need to cultivate the habit of patience and due time understanding because challenging will surely come as you age, responsibilities will level up as you age, bills will start coming in as you age but that’s alright cause that’s how mistakes are made and lessons are learnt.

That’s is also where plans are made, decisions are made, bonds are created. That’s is where love is also built cause trust me, the body hair and looks will fade but building bonds that last a life time is what real growing up is all about. You lose family and friends but you also gain some along the line but maintaining good lasting relationships is what you will enjoy when you’re older. Having people that love and care for you even when you’re grey is conquering the fear of growing and that’s all that really matters. Love.
